• Please join us Thursday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m. for a short seminar about the science of Yoga. A key element that distinguishes yoga practice from gymnastics, stretching, calisthenics or workouts in the gym, is the intentional integration of breath, posture, and movement. Our experienced instructor, Krista Murphy, will describe how the practice of yoga is linked directly to the structure and function of the human body. She will… highlight the core principles of yoga and anatomy, discuss the dynamics of breathing and review a variety of basic yoga poses. She will help us understand how yoga practice that emphasizes the relationship of the breath and the spine, is a powerful tool for keeping our bodies safe. Once the overview is complete, Krista will take the class through a short yoga program incorporating a variety of standing, sitting, kneeling, supine and prone poses.

This free seminar will serve all levels of yoga students, perhaps a review for the more experienced as well as a great introductory course for the beginner. Friends and family are welcome. Bring your yoga mat, towel and water.
