As most of you know, we have teamed up with CrossFit Works in Tucson, AZ to host the 2011 Winter Open event for Arizona CrossFit Affiliates. We are working hard to put together one of the most exciting events possible. The event will be held in Tucson at CrossFit Works. The Competition Workouts have been programmed by James “OPT” Fitzgerald of Optimum Performance Training, Inc. James was the winner of the very first CrossFit Games. There will also be a cash prizes for the male and female placing first in the Competition event. Last year’s Winter Open was a Tucson wide event and had nearly 60 competitors and more than 100 spectators! This year’s event, which has 72 competitors from all over Arizona, is shaping up to be a considerably bigger statewide competition, thanks in part to the involvement of James Fitzgerald and the many other businesses getting behind this exciting event!
The success of The Winter Open is not possible without the generosity and effort put forth by our sponsors. The money we raise each year goes towards helping at risk and underserved youth through CrossFit Works’ Steve’s Club Tucson and Core CrossFit’s Kids@Core in Phoenix. The proceeds from The 2011 Winter Open, will help fund many programs in both communities and also raise awareness of the needs of the kids and teens that both CrossFit Works and Core CrossFit are passionate about helping.
Steve’s Club is a nonprofit national network that serves at-risk or underserved youth of any socioeconomic background. These youth may join the CrossFit Works community at a reduced, low or no cost structure. Core Cross Fit’s Kids@Core program provides no-cost fitness programs for children in the Downtown Phoenix area along with healthy snacks, assistance with homework and nutrition education.
Please consider sponsoring this event. You may sponsor through your business or individually. Your cash donation is tax deductable as it will be processed through Steve’s Club which is a nonprofit organization. Use the link below for information needed to make your donation.
Also, there will be multiple open events, with great prizes for the winners, for those of you not quite ready for the main Competition.

ReplyVery interesting article post. Your article is very interesting. I enjoyed this blog post. This post is excellent! I have to say that after continually reading terrible as in, same old ideas, little quality content, etc. article posts on other sites, it’s good to actually read something that has some thought put into it. It’s a pleasure to read good article posts, especially after continually seeing rehashed %$!# that writers and bloggers are putting out nowadays. It’s always nice when I come across content that actually has value, I’ve been seeing a ton of subpar writing attempts recently. Anyhow, thanks again and I’ll check back often to see what else you have to offer. I’ll check back in the future to see what else you have up your sleeve. Keep up the good work! BTW, I like your site design, but your header image was only loading half way for me. P.S. Your header is messed up a bit in IE. The problem could be on my end but I thought you might want to look into that.
