    WORKOUT

The neighbors next door asked if we would keep it down for an event they’re having.  We’re going to do a lil running.

Does this mean that Heavy Squat cleans and Slayer would not be a good idea for open gym today? Ah Shucks!

Here’s an article discussing how globo-gyms fail to keep clients engaged. Not an issue at Core! http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/27/fashion/27SKIN.html

Are we having open gym tonight? Pretty please? I’ll even listen to my angry music through my earphones and handle the weights like a ninja….

Grass-fed beef comes from cows that eat only grass and other foraged foods, such as unprocessed grains. Usually, beef and dairy cows eat a diet of processed grain, such as corn. The difference in the diets of the cows is thought to change the nutrients and fats you get from eating the different types of beef.

Grass-fed beef may have some heart-health benefits that other types of beef don’t have. When compared with other types of beef, grass-fed beef may have:

oLess total fat  which means less calories!!  always a good thing.

oHigher levels of heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids

oHigher levels of another type of fat (conjugated linoleic acid) that’s thought to reduce heart disease and cancer risks

oLess incidence of E. Coli because the stomachs of grass-fed cattle have a neutral state. The intestine tracks of corn-fed cattle become more acidic which favors the growth of E. coli.

oHigher in calcium, magnesium, beta-carotene and potassium than corn-fed beef.
