Article take-away…Watch, listen, and learn. It’s a big part of the WOD.

Thank you for posting this. Also here are some more gym “rules” that I’ve learned through my life time.
    1. I someone is cleaning/ snatching more than you can squat, you need to stop talking and pay attention.
    2. The second someone steps on the platform going for a heavy single  it is now too late to yell “come on bro!!”
    3. Don’t yell knees out unless you can squat as much or more than the person squatting. There knees may be coming in because the weight is heavy .
    4. Wait to put up your weights after the person has finished lifting and left the platform. I know you are crazy tired from that dirty nasty wall ball/ thruster/ burpee AMRAP where you saw a vision of Jesus living it up with John Lennon, but that person is trying to focus on that bar and doesn’t care how epic your burpees have become. Honestly there is nothing awesome about burpees.
    5. Have confidence in yourself when lifting weights and be clear on how you feel your progressing. If coach ask you how you feel during the lift and you say “I don’t know?” coach will then go into the office and smash there head into the wall. Clear concise answers people.
    6. Unless it says “power” before it you are going to be squatting the lift.  There was no such thing as a squat clean!!! You clean or power clean!! The sooner you learn this the quicker you will hit PR’s!
    7. Periodically thank your strength coach. Getting strong is like riding a wave. There are ups and downs and you’re not always going to PR. It takes a special type of patience to deal with a group of people all on different parts of that wave. Plus we are all moody (myself especially) and we all want it now. Say thanks to a coach today instead of asking why you haven’t lost all that weight. You secretly already know why.

I could keep going but it is mostly about how poor Santana’s music taste is. :)
