Do not let the hero in your soul perish, in lonely frustration for the life you deserved, but have never been able to reach. Check your road and the nature of your battle. Fat…what does it do in our body?

Too much cholesterol and other fats can lead to disease and that a healthy diet involves watching how much fat you consume. However, our bodies need fat to function!!

Triglycerides, cholesterol and other essential fatty acids are fats that the body cannot make on its own. These fats store energy, insulate us and protect our vital organs. They act as messengers, helping protein do their jobs. They help in our immune function and basic metabolism.

Fat help the body store certain nutrients! The fat soluble vitamins (A, D, E and K) are stored in the liver and in fatty tissues.

The main way we store fat is as triglycerides. Triglycerides pack twice as much energy as carbohydrates and protein. Once triglycerides have been broken down during digestion, they head out to cells through the bloodstream. Some of the fat is used for energy right away while others are stored. When you need extra energy the body will breakdown the fat.

Fat can help manage your weight loss (if that is your goal) by better sensing of satiety than low fat type foods. Fat helps you feel fuller longer. This is because fat takes longer to digest then other type of food. Fat is calorically dense packing 9 calories per gram.
So, basically would you rather consume forest of broccoli or a tablespoon of some type of butter (almond, etc).

Don’t forget to add that almond butter to your apple or some oil to those vegetables!!
