“I don’t understand why Cupid was chosen to represent Valentine’s Day. When I think about romance, the last thing on my mind is a short, chubby toddler coming at me with a weapon.”
The VD Throwdown!
Pick someone to be your gym Valentine. Hopefully you picked someone strong and fast who knows how to row. Between you and your Valentine, row for 12 minutes switching off on the minute. We’re going to see who rows for the most calories. If nobody picks you to be their Valentine, don’t beat yourself up. You’re still ok in my book. You can row for a minute rest for a minute and we’ll multiply your cals by 2. The sweethearts who row for the most cals will have their picture posted on the website and be crowned VD Champions! Awesome!
*VD stands for Valentines Day
STRENTH & CONDITIONING

The CrossFit Games
The CrossFit 2011 Games are just a few months away and things are starting to happen here in Arizona! There is a qualifying process to get in to the CrossFit Games and it starts with Open Sectionals. CrossFit Scottsdale announced their “Friday Night Lights” 2011 CrossFit Games Open Qualifier, the Arizona CrossFit Affiliates group announced this morning that multiple AZ affiliates will take turns hosting the qualifying WODs with a rotating gym location each week. CrossFit Fury announced they will be hosting ”Sectional Saturdays.”
Each of the Sectional Qualifier events are structured differently. All programs are hosted by well qualified Affiliates and we are providing support to all of them. As a competing athlete, you need to figure out what works best for you. For example, CrossFit Scottsdale is providing support for RX, Masters and scaled athletes. The Arizona Affiliate group is supporting RX athletes only. The dates and times of the WODs vary. The links to all of the Sectional Qualifier events are below. Make sure you read up and make your own decision about what works best for you.
