True Food Kitchen Honoring National Nutrition Month on March 3

Proceeds from Sales to Support Kids@Core Exercise and Nutrition Programs for Children in Need

Scottsdale, Ariz. (Feb. 20, 2012) – In support of National Nutrition Month, on March 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., both True Food Kitchen locations in Phoenix and Scottsdale will donate a portion of proceeds to Kids@Core. When guests dine at True Food Kitchen for Saturday brunch, the restaurant will give 50% of proceeds to the organization, which provides nutrition and exercise programs for kids in need free of charge.

National Nutrition Month is an education campaign aimed to focus attention on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits. Developed in partnership with Fox Restaurant Concepts and best-selling author Dr. Andrew Weil, True Food Kitchen is an innovative eatery that offers a globally inspired, seasonal menu appealing to anyone seeking a more balanced lifestyle. True Food Kitchen celebrates high quality, locally and regionally sourced ingredients to create a pure, simple menu that tastes great while nourishing mind, body and spirit.

An ideal partnership for True Food Kitchen, Kids@Core is a non-profit organization founded by CoreCrossFit, a private health facility. The organization provides exercise training and nutritional guidance to low-income children in downtown Phoenix. The children participate in structured workout programs that involve aerobic exercise, muscle strengthening and flexibility routines. They are also taught the nutritional value of different foods so they can make healthy choices. Additionally, participants are given easily transferable knowledge and tools so their parents can have the opportunity to serve as role models.

True Food Kitchen offers a variety of healthful brunch items, including baked goods, smoothies, and fresh squeezed juices, in addition to hot and cold entrees.  From the bakery, enjoy the Pistachio and Date Muffin or the Gluten-Free Spice Carrot Muffin.  At the juice bar, try a smoothie such as the Bright Eyes with pear, ginger, beet, pineapple and turmeric, or a Natural Refreshment, including the Green Arnie with Matcha Green Tea and Honey Lemonade. Choose from a variety of breakfast entrees, including the Tofu Scramble Wrap with soy chorizo, pasilla, and Anasazi Bean, the Greek Frittata with organic egg, tomato, onion, Kalamata olive, feta and oregano, or the Gluten-Free Quinoa Johnny Cakes with banana, maple syrup and Greek yogurt.

True Food Kitchen has two locations in Phoenix and Scottsdale. Biltmore Fashion Park: 2502 E Camelback Rd., Phoenix, Ariz., 85016. For more information, call 602-774-3488. Scottsdale Quarter: 15191 N. Scottsdale Rd., Scottsdale, Ariz. 85254. For more information, call 480-265-4500. Visit www.foxrc.com or follow on Twitter @TrueFoodKitchen.

Yoga Times Change for 2 Weeks

Jan 31st, 2011No Comments

YOGA

We are switching yoga this week and next to Thursday night. Jessica Urban, our usual yoga instructor will be in Colorado Springs for the next 2 weeks so we have asked Jaqlyn Collier to fill in for her again. Jaqlyn is only able to instruct on Thursday nights.

Jaqlyn is an amazing instructor and her classes always seem to resinate with me for a while after the class. We would love for you to come check her out.

So, in summation no yoga this Tues (2-1-11) or next Tuesday (2-8-11), the classes will be held on Thursday 2-3-11 and 2-10-11.
Yes, this does mean there is open gym on Tuesday and you can drop heavy weights.

Thanks
